The 1967 VW split window double cab is a rare vehicle. 1967 was the last year for a split windshield window, and also was the first year to have a 12 V charging system. This 1967 double cab arrived at Transporter Werks with extensive structural and cosmetic rust. This restoration effort revived a great rare find.

The body restoration work involved repairing and replacing many of the damaged areas; a large section of the lower nose area was replaced, the doglegs on both sides were replaced, along with the rocker panels, rear corners, battery box and the front floor sections. After the body work was done and a new paint job completed, we installed new seals.

This vehicle has the original factory reverse lights, first released in 1967 and door handles and interior knobs that are unique to 1967. New interior seat covers and TMI paneling, along with floor mats and seatbelts completed the project.
